The List

We have to submit all of our pre production work next friday, and this morning we have had a tutorial with Andy, who is our 'superivising producer'. He talked us through what we would need to have ready to hand in and I thought I would list it on here so that I don't lose it!

We also will be seeing James Henry/ Henry James (I'll get it right one day) next week to tweak our story to perfection. And cannot lock the storyboard until after this.

So thats all. Excluding dissertation :)

bullet point at the ready

So I have just re written the story to include the lady being dropped off at her door so that there are no question of some sort of weird one night stand innuendo. And have written up some bullet points for charlotte and I to take in just in case we get a little lost. But I think it will go ok and I am looking forward to seeing what everyone else have got planned for their projects.

Nearly time to Present..

So today Charlotte has been finishing off our now wonderful moodscape and I have been fine tuning some of the images. I've written out a rough script of what we are going to say to the crowd on friday and we'll tidy it up later once I have had a look at the old BBC pitch script to check if I have missed anything important out. Below is one of the images I have been working on today.

The WOW picture

So after a few helpful comments from Kathy, I have added some shadows to the old lady and some brake light reflection in the rain water on the road. It does make the picture seem more dramatic.

The face on the lady is actually Charlotte's drawing as we both felt that she had a kinder look to her.

Our box of joy and trinkets :)

So for next wednesday, Andy asked Charlotte and I to produce a box of everything that is inspiring us and our 'vision' for the project. These are a few pictures of our afternoon making a mess and having fun!

Its all Change

So after our supposedly informal prsentation on wednesday, which needless to say did not go well, Andy asked Charlotte why were we not doing the Lady in the Rain for our final project and encouraged her to do so... So we are. And here are all the images the I can find for it because Charlotte's Hard drive has just died, and I would like to feel safe in the knowledge that our work is somewhere.

A little Design work

These are just a few concept pieces for our third year final project, for the proposed idea of animation Aesops fable, the four oxen and the lion.

The Beginning of the 3rd Year

This year I have two major things to complete. A short film, which I am co producing with Charlotte and will be a short adaption of aesops fable ' the four oxen and the lion'. Also my Dissertation, for which I have chosen quite a feminist topic.

So far, with regards to the film, we are still at the research and pre production stage, of gathering together our ideas and coming up with some design work. Hopefully we will have enough to get the go ahead for our project by the time we face the panel in November. We have written up a schedule and plan to stick to it, having remember to allow plenty of contingency time for set backs and problems.

Third Year Final Major Project

Goodness that post title makes it all sound rather scary. Today I have been looking at more of Aesop's Fables trying to decide which one deserve some attention and animating. I think I have finally settled on The Four Oxen and the Lion. The moral of the tale is United we stand, Divided we fall. It involves four oxen working together to protect one another against a lion by standing together and presenting him with their horns at every turn but they argue and move away from one another and are taken by the lion one by one.

These are some character designs I have been working on.

Egon Scheile

This is my interpretation of his piece, I hadn't seen this work before Sean showed it as his example of what he thought good design for animation would be. I liked his relaxed pose and the use of colour in the piece.

Drawing Project Background work.

I looked at Fern Gully, as they have small human like figures small, living in the rainforest.

Also, I have tried to keep the colous quite subtle, and tried to make sure they complimented one another.

Character and Background Design

These are just a few pieces that I have worked on in my own time, that I thought I would share.
